You Can Join the Child Support Schedule Workgroup CSSW Do you receive or pay child support? If so, we invite you to apply for the 2027 Child Support Schedule Workgroup to help shape Washington state child support laws and policies. Your voice and experience matter! This governor-appointed workgroup comes together every four years for a series of meetings. Parents work with policy experts, judicial branch representatives and members of the Legislature to review child support guidelines and rules and find ways to improve them. Several recommendations from the 2023 workgroup became law, including changes to low-income limitations and expansion of the economic table, which now better reflect the realities of working parents. The Alternative Solutions Program through the Division of Child Support (DCS) is here to support parents who may be struggling with employment, housing, legal issues, medical needs, or life after incarceration. Instead of facing these challenges alone, you can work one-on-one with a caseworker to create a personalized plan that could connect you to job training, housing and food resources, legal assistance, and other resources in your community designed to help you become financially stable and support your family. The program may also be able to help with child support related challenges such as, lowering child support payments or state-owed debt, resolving license suspensions, and understanding the child support process. With access to more than 4,500 resources across Washington State, Alternative Solutions is committed to helping parents succeed because stronger parents build stronger families.
